Scrum Master

We are looking for a full-time SCRUM MASTER to:

  • Be the Scrum Master for one, possibly two development teams
  • Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos
  • Assist the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed
  • Ensure cross-team coordination
  • Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing
  • Liaise between the Developers and UX Designers

LOCATION

San Francisco (2 blocks from the Embarcadero BART station)

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Includes paid healthcare, paid vacation, 401k and technology perks

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • It will be a huge plus if you are a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) but it is not required
  • No less than 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Scrum Management – not a Project Manager who is “scrum certified” but a full-time Scrum Master
  • Experience at a web application development shop and exposure to mobile software development is a plus
  • Familiarity with software development in the Linux environment
  • Experience in any programming language and ability to discuss highly technical issues with developers
  • Expert Mac user and lover or technology, process and organization
  • Proven track record of building motivated, collaborative, and productive development teams
  • Combination of leadership, team player and decision maker
  • Effective facilitation of meetings and conversations, therefore, excellent communication skills
  • Expert at handling creative conflict, confronting people issues, resolving disputes when needed

OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development
  • Understand other processes and methodologies to provide value to a team/enterprise
  • Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
  • Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
  • Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
  • Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
  • Understand common Agile practices, and better development practices
